Dear Hearts,
Welcome back to a conversation with the soul. It is my greatest wish that through these words we learn to explore the beautiful things that life has in store for us, and that in exploring my innermost thoughts, you too begin to tap into that universal energy that guides and connects us all.

I had a dream in the early morning hours this week, during that strange twilight-breaking moment when your eyes are neither fully open nor fully closed, which I believe is in itself heroically metaphoric for a state between the physical realm and an alternative one. It has always baffled me how people believe in the writings and miracles of religion, yet simultaneously cannot fathom the existence of demons and angels, spirits and energies; because, for the most part, we have been taught to only fully accept the sealed, packed, and clinically sanitised version of the human experience. To wander outside of this vacuum-sealed cube of existence is therefore truly unfathomable to some. One of my favourite quotes is, “And those who danced to the music were believed to be crazy by those who couldn’t hear it.” And what is that quote, if not another way of describing the journey of those who stay true to themselves despite the perceptions and opinions of those around them?
The dream that I had was one where I saw what appeared to be a clearing, a patch of sky between a cluster of tall, dark-green woodland trees. I could both understand it and not understand it at the same time. Which is why I thought it pivotal to write about it today, to better understand it and perhaps allow it to guide today’s conversation.

This clearing, this patch of sky, could mean many things, but I believe what it represented most symbolically was the reminder that sometimes we do not realise that beyond the thicket of the darkest wood, the sky still remains. It may be obstructed from view. You may take months or years to find it. Yet despite the time spent searching, and despite the hurdles that remain to be overcome, the sky still remains in place, waiting for you to find your way to it. I believe the purpose of life is exactly that: a journey to find our sky. The place where we feel we were intended to be, and the place where we feel most at home in every aspect of ourselves. I believe it is imperative that we listen to our soul at all times, so that we are not limited by the thinking of the masses, but rather uplifted and catapulted into our best lives by the strength of our own spirit. It is perhaps the great disservice to ourselves to let the clouds of others darken our sky when our sky was never in cloud to begin with.
The Clearing, whether dream or vision, was a reminder to me, but you too have reminders when you truly listen. When you put away the attention-grabbing electromagnetic waves of your phone and instead become still enough, you realise that something inside of you was always trying to guide you. It told you to stay away from that ex before they showed you why you should. It told you to leave that job before there were mass redundancies. And it told you that you could trust your best friend with anything long before you even knew it yourself.
As someone who is finally learning to listen to this guidance without question, I wanted to encourage you to do the same. Because when you do, you become unstoppable. There is no force that can derail you when you move in true alignment with your soul. It is, I believe, one of the most divine states of existence. When you move in accordance with it, the noise of the outside world begins to lessen, leaving in its wake an experience that feels remarkably like coming home to the version of yourself that you were always meant to be.
love always,
