Avastavé: Saving Grace

Dear Hearts,

Welcome back to our journey.

It has been a while since our last conversation, but in my defence, I believe that conserving our energy is essential. When our reserves are depleted, we cannot give the fullest version of ourselves to life. I never want my work here to be diluted by the chaotic rhythm of modern life, nor written from a place of empty word-regurgitation. Instead, I want every piece I place before you to be thoughtful and so deeply resonant that it leaves you with a feeling or perspective capable of changing not only your own life, but the lives of those you encounter.

Today, after nearly two weeks of feeling drained by an excess of social interactions and conversations with my own inner demons, I find myself thinking about saviours. Some of us spend our lives waiting for them, while others quietly become them. Waiting for a saviour is what concerns me because, more often than not, the saviour we long for exists only in fiction rather than reality. Then, one day, we realise that the saviour we were waiting for is the very person we have become. But perhaps that is skipping too far ahead into who we will become instead of acknowledging who we are in this very moment. So, if you, like me, have at some point waited for that white knight, or if, in this very moment, you are still waiting, let us walk together so we can better understand why choosing to become our own knight is the only path that will lead us out of the darkness of these heavy times and into the light of our own glory.

I will not lie; it is a comforting thought to believe that a single individual will walk into your life and heal all the wounds of your past and present. But if we were to truly sit with that idea, we would quickly realise why it is a flawed perspective. In waiting for that unicorn, we absolve ourselves of facing the very real demons of our lives. We convince ourselves that a hero will come along and save us, but no person can free us from the prisons and shadows that exist within our own minds. That task, and that battle, is ours alone. Like the folkloric heroes of old, we are the prophesied heroes and heroines in the story of our own lives. The moment we realise this, we step out of the chapters of the book that chronicles hardship and emerge into the clearing of the woods, where we embrace the greatest truth of all: there is no power greater than our own.

Today is about reclaiming that long-forgotten inner power. It is the wake-up call we have asked for, the wake-up call we have needed, and perhaps the wake-up call the universe has quietly been waiting to place before us at precisely the right moment.

You see, I know from battling my own demons that every day has its own battles and that no two days are ever alike. Some days will feel impossibly heavy, while others will feel noticeably lighter. Yet the place I hope we all arrive at feels like walking through a land of eternal spring, of cooling breezes and orange blossom, of laughter and gentle smiles. It is a place within us that we have carefully nurtured; a place that was once barren, now in eternal bloom.

And should a storm begin to gather on the horizon, should the rain descend upon our garden, may we remain unwavering. May we remain undefeated. May we remain unshakeable. For we are the prophesied heroes of this story. We are our own saving grace, and we move first and always in alignment with the quiet power that has lived within us all along.

I hope you embrace your power today. Because, it has been waiting for you all along.

love always,
